Dr. Levantrosser is a licensed clinical psychologist with over thirty years of experience. She specializes in evaluating children’s learning challenges in order to develop individualized educational behavior plans and recommend strategies for students to maximize their educational experience. She has treated children and adults in psychotherapy in her private practice since 1987 developing practical, problem focused coping strategies in collaboration with each unique individual.
Dr. Levantrosser’s practice helps patients with a wide range of issues including health psychology, child neuropsychology, learning disabilities, ADHD, and anxiety. Her experience within schools has made her an expert at developing learning accommodations plans for students of all ages. She specializes in developing coping strategies for those with executive skill weaknesses at the elementary school, middle school and high school levels. Her experience includes helping high school seniors transition to college.
She sees clients of all ages in individual psychotherapy.
Dr. Levantrosser originally developed her expertise in projective personality assessment, working with Dr. John Exner in Rorschach diagnostics as a Teacher for Rorschach Workshops. Thereafter she expanded into cognitive assessment, working at The Child Development and Learning Center at Long Island -Jewish Medical Center. Thereafter, she applied her assessment expertise as a school psychologist at the elementary level in New York City , and then for many years at a suburban Long Island School district. Dr. Levantrosser has practiced in Brooklyn Heights and Merrick, Long Island since 1989. She also was an active member of the Endometriosis Association, a women’s health support group in New York City from 1983-1987.
